While it’s nice to whip up a fruity ice cream smoothie, the goal is your health, and you should want to drink down a smoothie that is not only balanced in macros and full of nutritionally-dense foods but tastes delicious, too. You don’t want a green smoothie that tastes like trash – you want one you’ll WANT to drink! Fuelling your fitness is important, and with these four smoothie recipes, you can supercharge your workout and make yourself feel great all at once.

Banana-Walnut Bliss.

We all know that bananas are beneficial during a workout for muscle repair, and with this delicious option, you’ll be more than energized and satisfied.

Take the following ingredients and BLEND!

  • 2 cups skim milk
  • 1 large banana
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • handful walnut pieces (or 7 halves)

A Glass of Green

Protein packed and powered by green food, you get a nutrient-rich option that tastes sweet and delicious – and nothing at all like ‘green’ – you get what we mean.

Take the following ingredients and BLEND!

  • 1 1/2 cups skim milk
  • 2 cups kale stems and leaves
  • 1 kiwi fruit peeled
  • 1 tbsp smooth unsalted peanut butter
  • 1 tsp agave nectar, honey or maple syrup

The Purple-Powered Wonder

Mind and heart are as important as body and soul, and this purple layered smoothie looks and tastes fantastic with every sip. Plus, blueberries are brain food, with avocados that are packed with the right kind of fats – not pizza fats!

Top Layer

  • 1 ripe avocado peeled and pit removed
  • 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
  • Juice from 1/2 lime
  • 3 tbsp honey

Bottom Layer

  • 1 1/3 cup wild blueberries frozen
  • 1/4 cup almond butter (or smooth peanut butter)
  • 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
  • 1/3 cup 1% milk
  • Blend the following: 1 ripe avocado, peeled and pit removed 1 cup (250 mL) low-fat plain yogurt Juice from 1/2 lime 3 Tbsp (45 mL) honey
  • Divide equally among four glasses. Set aside while making the top layer.
  • Top Layer
  • Blend the following: 1 1/3 cup (325 mL) wild blueberries, frozen 1/4 cup (60 mL) almond butter (or smooth peanut butter) 1 cup (250 mL) low-fat plain yogurt 1/3 cup (75 mL) 1% milk
  • Pour into glasses, overtop avocado blend. Enjoy!
